I have always had a real interest in other religions but especially Islam.  I found a book in Faith Mission called ‘The Christians Pocket Guide to Islam’ so I got it to learn more about the religion.  From the moment I started reading it I enjoyed it because it was so full of information and was also very well written.  Before reading the book I thought that I had a reasonable knowledge of the religion but looking back now it was nothing compared to what I learnt from the book! 

The book is very good for many different reasons one of them is because it uses their own language in parts of it.  It will tell you the Islamic way of saying certain things and it will also give it in English.  At the end of the book there are a number of appendices and these include a glossary of Islamic words.  It also gives you a chronological history of the religion.

The book gives good detail of the beliefs and the history of Islam and its links to other world religions today.  It is well worth checking out if you have an interest in other religions or even if you just want to understand what Muslims believe.  I recently picked up a follow-up book to it called ‘The Christians Evangelistic Pocket Guide to Islam’.  I will let you know how it goes.
