I was saved at a very young age although I only started my walk with the Lord about 5 years ago. The reason for this is that I chose to live my Christian life the way I wanted and not the way God wanted. I never prayed, never told anyone I was saved, never read the bible and I didn't really want to be at going along to Christian meetings i.e. church, Sunday School etc. 

Because I chose to go my way it lead me straight into trouble, even though I grew up in a Christian family and was sent to all the organisations within the church. It was as though I had to make the mistakes I did, before I was ever ready to listen to God.

The Lord allowed different people to come and go, in and out of my life and it was through to one of these unsaved friends that the Lord spoke to me, because to watch someone you care about destroy their life before you is hard to take in. It was then I sought the Lord's help knowing I was powerless and not walking the way God wanted me to and it was only then that I turned to the Lord with all my heart for the first true time. It was then that God stepped in, broke me down and built me back up stronger than ever just like in the book of Isaiah the potter and the clay. Even the fact that then God provided in the early days a close Christian friend who would pray and encourage me was a sign of things to come. Amen
